2009 Activities

15th June 2009 - Official Kayak Launch at Holme Pierrpont

We attempted to hold an official launch of the new kayaks/canoe on the Regatta Lake at Holme Pierrpont, but unfortunately the weather was against and a massive thunder storm halted the proceedings.

Mark and Martin along with the Anna, Chris Smith, Ben & Josh (from Desperate Measures) did manage to get about 20 children on the water before the storm set in.

Kayak Launch Pictures

10th - 12th July - Camp at Walesby

18th - 20th September 2009 - Group Camp at Willesley

The camp was a greater success than last year with with more than 100 members attending the camp, Jock Shaw (DC) visited yet again to present Mark Widdowson with his 15year service award.
Mark and Martin yet again took more than 40+ cubs/scouts open canoeing in the nearby canal.

Cubs at London Film Premiere

On Sunday 4^th October 2009 - 2 cubs Charlotte & Ethan attended the UK premiere of the new Disney-Pixar film “Up” at the BFI Southbank.

2008 Activities

27th - 29th June 2008 - Camp at John’s Lee Wood

26th - 28th September 2008 - Group Camp at Willesley

The camp was a success with with more than 80 members attending the camp, and a special visit by Jock Shaw (DC) to present Melanie Widdowson with her GSL warrant.
Mark and Martin took more than 40+ cubs/scouts kayaking in the groups new boats obtained by the recent lottery application.
