This term we will be working towards the following badges...
Programme Friday 23rd September – Making New Friends For our first night back we will be making new friends as we have some new Beavers joining. We will play games and have a fun quiz! Friday 30th September – Fair Trade Evening Tonight we will be learning all about Fair Trade goods and why they are important and we will be trying to grow our own food as well! Friday 7th October – Experiment Night This evening’s Beaver session will be very attractive as we will be playing with magnets. We will make a magnet game, be making some art with magnets and we’ll learn how compasses work. Friday 14th October – Recycling Evening This will be a ‘rubbish’ Beaver evening – bring some recycling from home so that we can learn all about recycling and learn how to separate rubbish for our recycling bins. Friday 21st October – Rugby Night With the Rugby World Cup Final on Sunday, we will be learning all about the game and the country hosting the World Cup – New Zealand. We will also be learning a special Maori dance called the Haka! Friday 28th October – NO BEAVERS (half term) Friday 4th November – Firework Evening With Bonfire Night tomorrow, we will be doing some firework crafts by making edible sparklers, reading rockets and even our own Guy Fawkes! (Bring an old sock!) Friday 11th November – Remembrance Evening Tonight the Beavers will be paying their own tribute to Remembrance Day by making their own poppy posters. We will also be investing our new Beaver Scouts – remember new parents to come at 7.10pm with a camera! Friday 18th November – Music Night Tonight we will be making our own musical instruments and using them to learn a song to perform to parents at our last meeting of 2011! Friday 25th November – STOMP night In this evening’s meeting, we will be learning how we can use everyday objects to make up songs! You can bring some of your own music as well for the Beavers to listen to. Friday 2nd December – Christmas Crafts Now it is Advent time we will be doing some Christmas crafts to make your bedroom look Christmassy! Friday 9th December – Caribbean Night To forget the cold weather and dark nights, we will be learning all about the islands in the Caribbean tonight! We will try some Caribbean food and learn all about Caribbean culture. Friday 16th December – Performance Evening Tonight we will be putting on a special performance for parents (all parents and family welcome to turn up at 7pm). We will be showing them some of the things we have been doing and you will receive your badges for all the hard work you have done this term! |
