Welcome back. Deposits for Camp

Preparation for Camp. Erect tents – if not previously done. Investitures. Home Safety Badge + Certificates upon completion of National Grid Poster. Camp letters together with Health Forms.
23rd
Preparation for camp/ Kit lists / Parents meeting
26th - 28th
Group Camp at Willesley
30th
Camp Debrief + possible short Bridgford walk past St Giles into Central Avenue and the Park to identify different varieties of trees.
October
7th
Cub Scout Law and Promise. Self respect and care and respect for others. Walk sensibly round West Bridgford town centre without disrupting peoples ‘social night out’. Each Cub Scout to be able to identify a different object/building during our walk – quality of observation!!
14th
Walk along Grantham Canal (dry) from West Bridgford to Morrisons. This will be as much of a Nature walk as possible to identify and collect as many different types of leaves / berries / flowers from trees, bushes and plants. Essentially becoming a Woodland Trust Nature Detective. Samples to be saved in Scout premises to be made into a collage. Part of Naturalist badge. 6.30pm start. Parents to collect Cubs at 8.00pm in Morrisons Car Park.
21st
Halloween masks. Apple bobbing etc and Flour Puddings!!Home Safety badges and Certificates to be awarded.
Bob Morley visiting. The Owl Experience. Variety of owls will be shown, some of which will fly either outside or inside Wightman Hall.
16th
1.00pm Walk around Wollaton Park to view Deer and other Wildlife. Possibility of access into Wollaton Hall for a very brief visit. Part of Animal Carer badge together with Naturalist badge.
18th
Wildlife Habitats. Part of Global Conservation
25th
Make Advent Calendars. Print 24 small designs on pieces of cloth and attach hooks for presents
December
2nd
Finish Advent Calendars – Make Christmas Cards
9th
Visit to St Gile’s Church – Possibility of singing carols and involvement in a small Christingle Service. This would give all cubs involved their My Faith activity badge and act as part of their Community Challenge.
